The Beginning Of Her Journey.

This is an extension of the sensuality audio piece. I have added it to video footage of myself dressed up as my alter ego. This is the beginning of her story. I feel the audio piece fits well with the video work. As well as this, the audio makes you focus on the other people rather than the main character-it makes you watch the background movement.

I'm pleased with the outcome and feel xcited for the next stage of her journey.

Video Footage was filmed on the 28th October in Kingston Upon Thames town centre.

Sensuality Writing Piece

Alter Ego

To embrace the idea of the glamour and porn industry, I have created an alter ego-based on Jodie Marsh's look. I'm interested in how people will react to me and how I will be treated. Below are the before and after images of my makeover.

Prepared to be shocked!

BEFORE-Me as normal. I don't usually wear much make up and feel perfectly comfortable with this....

AFTER- Introducing my alter ego. Face full of makeup, false eye lashes and hair extensions! I felt ver out of my comfort zone, but the look is exactly what I was looking for! The transformation was mad, it was like looking at someone else in the mirror!

Start of Year 2.

To begin the new term time, have decided to concentrate on the magical world of Feminism.
I've been looking at the female body and how it is an object of desire. I have been concentrating on glamour modeling at the moment.
I've produced two collages.

This one s very simple, yet I think it's my favorite of the two. The picture is of a page 3 model, which lyrics from an Eminem and D12 song. These lyrics ('Shut your mouth, you dirty slut, you know youwant it in your butt') are my favorite out of the Purple Pills song, however if you think about them, they are quite forceful and harsh.

For this collage, I researched into what happens to the male body during sex. It looks very media based. I took the facts on the male genitals and image transfered them onto the paper.

Start of Summer Photography

I have recently been experimenting more with my SLR camera.

Here are a few photography pieces that I feel show off my newly learnt skills. The photos are reflections of my home, where my heart lies and the start of my summer.
Enjoy X

Back Into The Earth

Back Into The Earth is what I exhibited for my first final year show. It consisted of a short 5 minute looped film of my performance and four accompaning photography pieces.

Back Into The Earth was originally a pure performance piece. However, it was easier to show the performance by film and photography.

By completely covering my body in mud I was able to remove my identity and almost cleanse my body of any impurities. It was a personal journey about renewing myself, by using a natural element such as mud, I was being cleansed by nature itself and as the mud was washed off, all of the impurities went back into the earth with the mud.

I enjoyed experimenting with being both the model and the artist, Jenny Saville was a major influence throughout my work. I feel that i achieved my aim well and was pleased with my final pieces. I feel that I still have more to give in this area and am looking for inspiration to help me continue with my practise.

B.Y.O.P*

*Bring Your Own Pie.
24th Feb
The Waggon and Horse pub
Surbiton

B.Y.O.P- My first proper exibiton, on the 24th Feb (about a week ago now). It consisted of seven of my tutor group (including myself). The theme was loosely based on leisure/pubs. The Waggon and Horse is quite a traditional, 'old man's' pub, and I wanted to put a piece in that was the complete and utter opposite of this environment.

I decided to do an abstract piece, painted. The final piece was a painting taken from a photograph of a friend, who had a mo-hawk drinking a pint. So keeping within the theme of the 'pub' and, of course slightly abstract.

Although I was happy with the piece as a full picture, I thought I could still improve it. Thinking about abstraction I decided to rearrange the piece-almost like a jigsaw.

I think that overall the rearranging worked well. It gives the piece more depth and because you can't instantly tell what it is meant it be, it draws the viewer in. As well as this, the way I arranged it made the eye flow smoothly around the piece. I ended up calling the piece The Blue Man. For the obvious reason, the colour blue. And secondly, the original photograph was taken at one of my local pubs, called The Red Man.

The actual night of the exibition, went well. We had a good turn out and had positive feed back about all of our work. However, I had a mixed view on my piece. The reaction I got from Uni and fellow students was positive and generally my piece was liked. But the local drinkers from the pub thought that it was a bit too much for the pub itself. This dishearted me slightly, but my piece was meant to be out of place, it was not meant to fit in with the tradtional pub environment, so, in theory I achieved want i set out to do.

The exibition is still on, and finishes on the 24th March.

Smoking Photography. Take 2.

These are also photos from last year, again, focusing on capturing smoke. I think that these photos are a lot more sensual and more passionate that the previous ones, yet the effect is the same.

Smoking Photography

Last year I had a go at trying to capture smoke in a photograph. My aim was to make smoking look beautiful and sexy. Rather than the stereotypical view of smoking as a dirty habit.

This gave me the perfect chance to have a go at photography. I am really pleased with the results I got, and feel that the photos are indeed beautiful and have an air of elegance about them.

*Note: This was not to promote smoking!
